I was delighted to hear that South Dakota gubernatorial candidate Dennis Daugaard has selected Matt Michels as his running mate for lieutenant governor. Despite my last name, I have no relation to the former South Dakota speaker of the house, but I served as a legislative page in Pierre during my senior year of high school and was honored to have met Michels.
